Real Ceremonies: Mirjam and Joost
Peek into the beautiful woods of Doorn, Netherlands, and you'll find a setting made for the ideal forrest-themed wedding. For Mirjam and Joost, it was the perfect intersection of their love of nature and each other, and the desire to have a relaxing spot to celebrate with family and friends.
Both Dutch-born and raised, Mirjam and Joost first met at a local pub. It turns out, they had the same circle of friends but had never been introduced. Shortly after, the two became protagonists of a longterm love story, which brings us to the beautiful chalet at Helenaheuvel.
This laid-back couple had no intention of rushing their guests, or each other, through any part of the day. And that's evident in just about every moment captured by their guests.
"We had no strict scenario written so there was time to just enjoy the day with as little stress as possible. What was important was being together." — Mirjam
And they wanted an equally stress-free experience in gathering the memories from their big day.
“We had much fun using Ceremony. All our guests got easy access to the app and enjoyed sharing their pictures. After the wedding, we had a big collection of photos for our album. So easy without those struggles of desperately asking around for pictures because they were already uploaded!" — Mirjam
After their legal ceremony on the exquisite chalet terrace, Mirjam and Joost took the party down the road to a 14th Century church where they were married by Mirjam's father, adding a special touch to an already spectacular day.
While we love the details of this wedding (that cake is fit for a woodland fairytale!) we're most captivated by the pure joy shared between Mirjam and Joost. You can't fake true love, not in any photo on the planet.
